The term ceramics was originally used in Greek, which meant pottery, its art being curved and made from clay. Notably, clay was mixed with other materials which were later shaped to the molders will and ideology, exposed to extreme heat in a bid to keep it intact and strong and later let to dry. Remarkably, ceramic works were first discovered in China, having the earliest carbon-dated pottery from the Hunan Province (George, 1973). The carbon-dated pottery was discovered in 18 BC. However, the earliest known art that was made from clay and was ceramic was founded in the 25th BC. The statuette was of a female who was nude being commonly known as the cache of figurines. The Venus of Dolni Vestonice was curved at the Gravettian era where it was made from Czech Republic’s local clay mixed with powdered bones.
