- Improving the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction);
- Improving the health of populations; and
- Reducing the per capita cost of health care.

The United States has high costs of healthcare among other countries in the world. This comes from the many diseases facing the country’s population coupled with a very high cost of care. The country’s disease burden currently takes up approximately 17 percent of the country’s GDP while the percentage is expected to increase further by the year 2020. A lot of effort is required by the healthcare if at all Americans are ever going to experience efficiency in healthcare.
