The Hadza of Tanzania

Hunter and gathering communities and their interaction with both the social and the natural environment have formed a significant aspect of the anthropological discourse. The main concerns are on the status of hunting and gathering communities and the manner in which these communities interrelated with other ethnicities. Emergent questions include whether their neighboring communities might have influenced their outstanding way of life. Apparently, there are many exaggerations and misinformation concerning the experience of hunting and gathering communities such as the Hadza (Marlowe, 2002). The Hadza, for instance, bear a history of contact with neighboring communities and are also found to interact with many non-foraging communities yet the Hadza maintained their lifestyles. Several explanations have emerged leading to ambiguities and disagreements on the nature of their migrations and how the communities developed over the years.
