Unifying Themes of Psychology
Marijuana use in schools has increased rapidly in the past few years. Marijuana use is perceived to have many effects on the mind and body of individuals who consume it. Its use is seen by many educators and policymakers as something that could affect the health of the younger generations in the future. Marijuana is a commonly used drug in many households across the United States. It is estimated that 13% of the population uses marijuana at least once a year. It is also estimated that about 1.5% of the population, or approximately four million people misuse marijuana. Marijuana abuse is often confused with using marijuana for medical reasons and use by infrequent users.
