Analytics in sport is the collection of relevant information such as statistics and historical data which is then analyzed to help a team or individual get an advantage or insight. Through the data collected and analyzed, the analytics enlighten stakeholders in the game such as the player, coach and help them make the best decision which is backed by the insight gained using math. Sports analytics came into focus in the year 2011 when the film by the name Money ball showed how analytics help a team win advantage over the rest.
